Another Broken Egg Café is a famous American brunch restaurant chain established in 1996. It’s known for its friendly, outgoing service and exceptional menu. Today, Another Broken Egg has more than 100 cafes located in 16 states as either corporate owned or franchises, and it continues to grow in new and existing markets across the United States.

As the HR Manager on the corporate side of Another Broken Egg, Melanie Carmack, who joined three years ago, oversees the daily supervision of the organisation’s HR affairs: employee payroll, benefits and all HR compliance initiatives.

Another Broken Egg has approximately 45 corporate-owned restaurants across the United States, which are currently located in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio and Kansas. Each state has distinct laws and regulations, making it challenging for our HR team to keep up with the frequent regulatory and legislative changes. This task is particularly difficult for a small team with limited resources.

They used to spend countless hours researching different states’ websites and determining whether or not the changes applied to their organisation to ensure they weren’t lagging in HR compliance for that state.
